The backstory
I’m a dad of two boys.
When my youngest was bitten by a dog on a Friday night, everything happened fast — blood, panic, a crying child, and my own heart racing. I was trying to stay calm and strong while asking myself a hundred questions at once:
Do we need urgent care or the ER?
Do I even have his insurance card with me?
What does the doctor need to know?
Should I take photos for insurance later?
We got through it — kids heal fast, and he was okay. But afterward, the adrenaline gave way to a different feeling: What if I hadn’t handled it right? What if it had been worse?
That night I realized how unprepared I really was.
Since then, I’ve learned about family safety and preparedness — how to organize information, keep the right supplies on hand, and plan calmly for when life doesn’t go as planned.
I know the fear that comes with those unexpected moments, and I’ve learned how much peace comes from being ready.
That’s why I started this project: to help other families feel safer, calmer, and more resilient when the unexpected happens.
